Mountain T.O.P.
In 2016, our biggest group ever – 52 youth and 20 adults – went to share the love of Christ by repairing homes and building relationships with residents of the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee (www.Mountain-TOP.org) During this week-long mission trip, youth and adult leaders make new friends from all over the country while working, playing games and worshiping outdoors.  The trip is open to youth who are currently in grades 8-12. Those planning to attend Mountain T.O.P. participate in fund-raising events from September to June.  Contact Jeff Poiner (jpoiner@me.com).

Valley Below
Our high school mission team, Valley Below, shares the love of Christ in our own hometown.  Youth complete mission projects for local families by doing yard work, home repair, cleaning, and small construction projects.  Contact Jillian McKenna (jillianmck10@gmail.com).

Youth Praise Band
Youth in 6th - 12th grades are invited to join our youth praise band.  The band plays contemporary praise music using a variety of singing and instrumental talents.  The band rehearses on Sunday afternoons prior to youth group and provides worship music several times per year.  For more information contact Heath Whitehead (whiteheadheath@sbcglobal.net).

Worship
Youth plan and lead several worship services during the year including the Sunday after Easter and the Mountain T.O.P. service in the summer.  New Beginning June 4!   Sundays at 8:00 pm in the Chapel: CREW Worship - A place for high school & college-age young adults to experience their own worship.   A group of young adults will lead this service throughout the summer with ice breakers, short messages, small group discussion, and fun!

Spring Hill
Winter Retreat at Spring Hill Camp in Evart, Michigan, is a weekend of indoor and outdoor fun as youth learn more about God and deepen their faith.  They go sledding, play broomball, listen to dynamic speakers and rock out to Christian music.

Summer Camps
Life-changing summer camps for youth are offered by the Camping and Retreat Ministries of the Detroit Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church (www.umccamps.org). Scholarship help is available from our church.

Vacation Bible School
Youth help lead music, drama, games, and crafts for the children who attend Vacation Bible School in the summer.

Bibles
The Education Team gives age-appropriate Bibles to youth who are in 6th grade.  Contact the church office if you’d like a teen Bible.

Child Protection
All persons who work with youth in our congregation are required to attend training classes for the protection children, youth, or vulnerable adults.  Our “Safe Sanctuary” policy requires that each classroom be staffed by at least two trained volunteers.
