Red Cross Blood Drive – August 16
South Lyon FUMC is proud to sponsor our next blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, August 16 from 1:00-7:00 pm.  If you are healthy and eligible, please come out to donate.  You can sign up on the kiosk or online at  If you can’t donate blood, we would love to have you as a volunteer at our drive. Sign up on the kiosk or contact Lori Carey to volunteer your time.

Days for Girls Health Kits – August 16
The United Methodist Women have been inspired to do more in the area of young women’s personal health needs.  On Wednesday, August 16 Vikki Edgington of Howell UMC will be speaking on the project “Days for Girls”. She will explain how we can help with the creation of feminine hygiene kits.  All women of the church are invited to join us for a salad supper at 6 pm in the Friendship Room and then to hear Vikki’s words of inspiration and information.  Please RSVP to Peg Berry by August 14 (248-437-4816).

Youth Ice Cream Social - August 22
Calling all youth… You are invited to join us for an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 22nd from 7 to 9pm at the church behind the parsonage (Rev. Mary’s house). Enjoy some ice cream, reconnect with friends, and/or make new friends.  This is open to all youth; parents are encouraged to attend. We will also share dates of upcoming youth events, hay ride, fundraisers, Valley Below activities, CREW, youth activity calendars, and more!  Contact Heath Whitehead for more information.

Men’s Euchre Tournament – August 25
The next men’s quarterly euchre tournament will take place on Friday, August 25from 7:00 – 10:00 pm in the Friendship Room.  Join us for a rousing night of good cards, good men, and so-so snacks!  Bring $5 to cover the cost of prizes and snacks.  Sign up on the kiosk or at Ignite.  For more information contact Rev. Outdoor Worship Service – August 27
Join us for our annual outdoor worship service at the McHattie Park gazebo Sunday, August 27.  All three morning services will come “Together at 10:00 am”.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy one of our favorite services of the year!
